Alternative Therapies for Cancer
With all the new advancements being made in medicine, cancer patients can
look forward to a complete recovery.
Chemotherapy and radiation however can be a harrowing experience. Can they be
done away with in favor of less invasive treatments?
This is not to suggest that radiation and chemotherapy are in question
themselves. In fact many patients respond favorably to both treatments. In any
case, this is a matter of personal choice -- one that is between a patient and
doctor and best dealt with in the privacy of a doctor's'soffice.
But there are reports of additional therapies that appear to help
conventional cancer treatment methods. Some patients have reported success while
relying solely on these therapies.
Organic diet
You are what you eat and there is a plethora of research to suggest that
eating the right foods has a positive effect on illnesses, including cancer.
(Although there is more evidence to show that eating the wrong foods actually
cause cancer).
Eating natural foods that contain few, if any, processed ingredients have had
amazing results among cancer patients.
The premise behind this is that natural food creates a healthier balance in
the body and this increases the body's ability to combat cancer cells.
One of the leaders in other cancer fighting foods (besides vegetables and
fruits) is green tea. It seems that green tea has reduced cancerous tumors in
some patients. While studies are conflicting, there seems to be promise with
three cups of green tea per day.
Stretching to rest and relax
Staying relaxed and easy helps, people say, but yoga and any form of
meditation make their bodies feel healthy enough to tackle the cancer.
This could well come from the release of stress, which is why it often
complements conventional treatments. But other theories suggest that meditation
and yoga promote positivism, with naturally positive outcomes.
Actually, just the physical act of using otherwise tired muscles spurs them
into re-generation. It promotes circulation, which relieves tension built up
from the realization of diagnosis and the every-day adjustments that sometimes
come thereafter.
Cancer is not the end of the world and with the right treatment and a
positive outlook, a patient can beat the disease. Alternate therapies provide
added relief along the road to recovery.
You need to give yourself the best there is. Anything, after all, can work to
help in tackling cancer.
