Worker Compensation Act

The United States has been having issue

for many years since the implementation of workers compensation across United States. Prior to 1911 the question was should workers be compensated for work-related injuries. This question arouse from Europe, the ideal of Workers compensation came from Europe in 1911 at the start of the 20th Century. Wisconsin became the first state to implement worker's compensation laws and other states followed.

Texas implemented its first law in 1913. Congress and the president pressured the courts to enforce worker compensation across the United States in 1917 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states could legally require employers to provide workers compensation to injured workers. Due to high insurance costs and low benefit rates the Legislature was force to look for change in the Workers Compensation system and it has become what we know today.
